Working together – the Eisenstraße Passive House and FunderMax: the project in Neubruck, Scheibbs shows how innovative and sustainable buildings can be created today.

The Eisenstraße Passive House is a model house in terms of ecological and sustainable energy construction. This house is made of 99% ecological materials and obtains energy from a photovoltaic system. It also uses much less energy than conventional houses due to its good insulation.

In its style, the Passive House is governed by the typical regional building designs along the Lower Austrian Iron Road: gable roof, windows that give a lot of light and clean, simple lines. FunderMax has played a key part of this special project through the design of the façade using Max Exterior, Decor 0027 NT

"The exterior design emphasises the combination of tradition and modernity: exterior facade panels, wooden shutters using domestic fir and smart spruce timber clad the cosy interior of the Passive House" says Adi Strigl, innovator in the field of timber frame construction. The master timber builder and carpenter is leading the way with the Eisenstraße Passive House when it comes to timber construction technology. He has created a prototype to be proud of: this special house was showcased at the Lower Austrian Provincial Exhibition in 2015.
