Les Lofts de la Baume - At one with nature

With a stunning mountain backdrop, and set on a key heritage site, it was crucial that this residential complex should work in harmony with its environment. La Bastide de la Baume is a strong emblem of the city and its belfry can be seen for miles around. Neoclassical in its style, dating back to the beginning of the twentieth century, La Bastide clearly remains the mistress of this magical setting.

Respecting the historical axis of the Bastide with its classic ‘L’ layout, this unique project features two key wings boasting 21 collective residences: 1 creates an urban front along the Avenue Andrée Malraux, while the west wing takes the axis of the Bastide. Harking back to its origins the ‘strip’ form, takes its steer from the ‘Quartier des terres rouges’. Seamless in its design; this urban project blends private and public spaces beautifully. A stunning family park borders the complex and thanks to careful and attentive landscaping, it seems almost a part of the project. The idea behind these 21 residences was to create a ‘harmonious’ / ‘garden town’ where plants play a fundamental role.

Just like the site itself, the choice of materials had to achieve the perfect balance of contemporary and traditional: 

• Warm toned, beige/yellow stone; Provençal stone for the ground floor
• Max Exterior Authentic Natura, chosen for its natural and unique finish which captures and refracts the light wonderfully
• South facing facades feature versatile and adaptable solar protection

With this project we’ve found the ideal balance - contemporary living and traditional appeal combine to create a stand-out residential complex.
